- This hybrid is very easy to grow but please be sure to avoid temps below 50 F. (Plants are NOT in-bud/bloom when shipped)
- Plants produce lavender to purple blooms that have a spicy fragrance. SD2 size plants are large seedlings, about two years from Blooming Size. Near Blooming Size plants are about 12 months from reaching Blooming Size. Please look at photos carefully to get an idea of sizes being offered.
- Some members of the Odontoglossum group (such as this Miltassia Charles M Fitch) may have spots on the leaves, especially on the tips, or some wrinkles on the bulbs. This is COMPLETELY NORMAL for these kinds of orchids, and does not mean the plant is unhealthy or diseased.

Some decades ago, Charles M. Fitch was a well-known photographer of orchids. He actually has at least one more orchid named after him, Aliceara Marfitch (which looks quite similar to the one we're offering here). The 'Izumi' cultivar of this hybrid quite popular, as it is a dominating orchid: a blooming size plant is quite substantial, and it produces a large inflorescence with many flower buds that open up into star-shaped flowers almost the size of one's hand. The purple coloration is very distinctive, and the leopard spots certainly enhance the appearance of the blooms. The most striking feature is the unmistakable spicy fragrance. The SD1 (SMALL SEEDLING) size plants we're offering are about 18 - 24 months from reaching Blooming Size. Easy to grow, but will require patience on your part. They come in 2.25-inch pots; they don't need to be repotted for at least 12 months. Bright shady conditions, indoor temps will work fine. You'll get faster growth if you can keep them humid, such as under a humidity dome if growing in the home.
